The AKROG Anorak, inspired by the classic Gorka uniform, offers a comfortable fit with robust softshell fabric and fleece lining, making it warm, windproof, and water-repellent. It features multiple pockets, an adjustable hood, and a drawstring hem. Ideal for cold weather, it's a valuable addition for winter outings.
We are fans of the Gorka, the Russian uniform for the mountains, which is used everywhere. PITCHFORK SYSTEMS also likes the concept very much and has made their own interpretation of it, the AKROG Anorak. We tested it in autumn weather.

For those wondering about the name of the AKROG Anorak, just read it backward, then everything should be clear. The anorak is made from softshell material with fleece lining, making it windproof, water-repellent, and warm. The cut is classic Gorka, shapeless, loose but comfortable.

The back is also kept very simple. The material is the same in both colors and not different as in the classic Gorka. The classic version consists of a robust linen fabric and an abrasion-resistant nylon fabric. The AKROG Anorak uses "only" softshell fabric, which is also very robust.

The fit is typically Gorka, so baggy. The AKROG Anorak provides you with a chest pocket and a front pocket to keep your hands warm.

The chest pocket is closed with a flap and Velcro.

Inside, it has two elongated mesh pockets and a Velcro strip. Perfect for storing small items.

The front pocket has two openings and provides plenty of space.

There is also a pocket with Velcro on each upper arm. Somehow, the pockets on the AKROG Anorak seem positioned slightly lower than other jackets.

We find the size of the pockets good and also the access possibilities.

Yes, you read that right, plural. You can access the pockets either traditionally from above through a Velcro flap or through a zipper on the front. The pockets are not further subdivided inside.

The hood is spacious and can be closed tightly. This way, wind and weather won't bother you.

With the drawstring and Velcro strap, the fit can be adjusted very well. Also, the visor at the front can be tucked away inside.

Good idea, but unfortunately a small disadvantage. The hook-and-loop surface tends to catch on the fleece beanie or hair when putting it on or taking it off.

Even without the hood, the AKROG Anorak maintains a good shape.

The sleeves are equipped with two fixed elastic bands. This seals very well,

and it also provides good length compensation in the sleeve due to this construction. The sleeves are cut slightly longer, so combined with gloves, there’s hardly a cold gap, regardless of the arm position.

The fleece on the inside provides warmth. So far, we found the AKROG Anorak to be too warm during movement, but in winter it will be perfect.

At the lower hem, there is a drawstring that allows you to tighten the jacket so that no cold air comes in from below.

The disadvantage of pull-over jackets is that taking them off is always a bit more difficult compared to jackets that can be opened completely.
The AKROG Anorak is a solid Gorka made from modern materials. Thanks to the fleece lining, it is very warm. A jacket that is definitely a good choice in late autumn and winter, but far too warm for summer. Due to the softshell material combined with fleece, the AKROG Anorak is not lightweight and cannot be compressed into a very small size. It is also intended as outerwear that is worn continuously, not as an insulating layer to be carried in a backpack.
The quality of the fabric and seams is very good. No loose threads or crooked seams. Overall, the anorak appears very valuable.
We will continue to wear the AKROG Anorak throughout the winter and are almost hoping for damp-cold weather, as this is when the anorak will show its strengths.
It is available AKROG Anorak directly from PITCHFORK from 169.95 euros.
